Palatine Gymnastics Club - Competitive Team

Workouts: The workout schedule for the team is divided into four groups. Level 4 Team works out three days per week for a total of 6 hours. Level 5 Team works out three days per week for a total of 7.5 hours. Level 6 Team works out four days per week for a total of 12 hours. Level 7, 8, and 9 Team works out five days per week for a total of 15 hours. Workouts are 2 to 3 hours long and are held in the gymnastics facility at Community Center or at Palatine High School.

We want all team members to have fun and be successful. Success requires a high degree of concentration and hard work. Discipline is strictly enforced during workouts. All gymnasts are required to wear a leotard to all workouts. Good attendance is also very important to ensure safety and success. In the event a workout is canceled or location changed, you will be notified. Please remind your daughter that if she arrives at the designated workout place and no one is there, she should NOT walk home or to any other facility without first calling you, the coordinator, or her coach to authorize her to leave the drop-off point. In case of an extended illness or injury, it is the parent's responsibility to notify the coach and to keep the staff updated on progress. Absences are a deciding factor in a gymnast's success and advancement to the next level.

Communications: Open lines of communication are very important to us. So please do not hesitate to talk to your daughter's coach or to call the Team Coordinator. When leaving a message for the coordinator or the coaches to return a call, please include the best time to reach you. For safety considerations it is very important that you do not interrupt the coaches during workout time. If you must speak with them briefly, please do so either during the first fifteen (15) minutes when the girls are warming up, or the last fifteen (15) minutes when the girls are conditioning.

In order to keep information flowing smoothly throughout the club, a team mailbox system has been developed. It is located in the gym near the coaches' office. Each gymnast has a mailbox. They are in alphabetical order within each team level. It is important that you or your daughter check her team mailbox in the gym every practice day. If your daughter checks it, please be sure to ask her if you had any mail. You may want to get in the habit of checking her gym bag on Saturday afternoon. The coordinator also has a mailbox at the front of the team mailboxes. Please leave your fees or any other notes for the coordinator in this mailbox.
